Don’t Panic. Get Coda.

codaAs a consultant I wear quite a few hats, as it were. I troubleshoot issues with Macintosh computers. I set up & install new Macintosh systems. I develop and implement FileMaker databases. I also do web design and development.

Wearing the chapeau of web developer I have several tools that I use regularly. Besides the obvious ones like Adobe Dreamweaver CS4, I use a little coding application from Panic called Coda.

I use Coda regularly. As they say on their website “text editor + file transfer + svn + css + terminal + books + more = whoah.” I don’t know if I could have explained it better. It’s a text/code editor, with full color formatting

Christmas Theme: Moving RSS & Mail Icons

RSS & Mail IconsI recently changed my Wordpress theme to a free theme called WordPress Christmas v1.1, designed by the benevolent and creative folks at InstantShift.com. You might be thinking … hmm … doesn’t look too Christmas-like. Yes with some basic Photoshop & CSS skills it was easy to change the design to make it work for me. With a little skill & help from me … you can too.

This little tutorial will help you change the images used for the RSS icon & the Mail icon and their position on your page. It’s up to you whether you work with the file live. It’s not brain surgery, but as always … back up any files you may alter before you start.
